Monday 10 September 2007

Well......

Since my last post I have got no further on the advertising side of things. The student website I mentioned last week have yet to reply to my latest offer so that is currently holding up plans to keep the site running 24/7.
It's extremely annoying as I would have liked to secured this deal already but I will have to be patient as I know this student website I aim to advertise on is hugely successful and will ensure this site is visited often by everyone!
I know not many of you visit the site each day but please do keep telling your friends about it, it's the only way this site will grow.
Enjoy your week!

Great Student Deals: Update

Sorry again for the lack of updates. It's a bit quiet on the advertising front at the moment but i'm currently talking to a major student website about the prospect of advertising on their website. How much this will cost me (alot) I don't know for sure but this is likely to be a big investment and is sure to generate 1000's of hits a day.
If this advertising deal does happen I will be looking for other dedicated students to help keep the main site updated with the latest deals.
Naturally if the site generates a sufficient amount of revenue then there is likely to be incentives involved for those lucky enough to be picked, so keep an eye out over the next month for further details.
Competitions will also be run once I finally secure a sufficient amount of advertising probably involving posting deals on the forum but again this is only going to happen if the site can generate revenue.

The plans may sound a bit farfetched but I see no reason why this site can't become a big success, it will require alot of patience on my behalf and on yours!
If you would like to ask me any questions about any of the points I raised above then do email me on:
greatstudentdeals@gmail.com

More deals to come soon.....

Xbox 360 Elite + 2 Games - £299 Delivered

This is better than the deal I posted last week from Gamestation. This time HMV are offering the Xbox 360 Elite Console + Blue Dragon AND a choice of one of the following:

Another idea for those who just want the console is to buy this package, then either sell the games on ebay for £20-£25 each or trade them in at Blockbuster/Gamestation etc. You could quite easily get the console for £250 using this method!

Various CD-WOW Vouchers - £2 off Games

After taking a look at the latest poll I have running on the right of this website I see people are eager (ok well maybe not that strong) for freebies or vouchers. Taking this into account I thought i'd provide you all with vouchers for CD-WOW, a site where you can buy the latest games, CD's and DVD's. The CD's in particular are pretty cheap but the only downside to this site is that delivery can sometimes take upto a week because they ship from Hong Kong (legally of course).
Just click on the links OR apply the vouchers and the checkout (whichever is applicable):

Sony Ericsson K810i - 12month contract -11 months free!

This deal is probably one of the best i've posted so far. You get 300mins, 400text plus a free Sony Ericsson K810i for 12months, for the price of just 1 month!
There alot of these deals floating around. The only catch is that you have to pay them the normal contract price per month, every month (say £35 a month) but then after 3 months you have to claim for the cashback via post. It's a little bit of a hassle but it's totally worth it. Saves you about £100 a quarter!
So you get: FREE PHONE + 300mins + 400texts (that's every month) for a WHOLE YEAR for just £35. Also it's with phones4u so it's not as if it's an unknown company.
Follow the link below for the Sony Ericsson K810i:

Bioshock (Xbox 360) - £32.99 inc. Delivery!

Also they say 99% of their customers who order before 3pm (Mon-Fri) get their order the very next day. I've ordered once from them and i'm pretty sure it came the next day so very good service!
For those who want the tin case of Bioshock, you can get that for £36.99 too!
Follow the link below for Bioshock:

£15 off £100 - Tesco Voucher

£100 shop at Tesco may sound a bit excessive but the code works if you buy £100's worth of BOGOF products. This then means you get £100 of goods for £35 (+ delivery) because they work out the offers AFTER you apply any vouchers. A great way to save money if there is anything you like which is on offer!

Free Bingo Money - NO DEPOSIT (£10)

You may well be wondering why I am posting this. When you think Bingo you think old people and tackyness....yes? Well who cares when sundaydailymail (not THE Daily Mail, don't worry you pro labour/lib dem supporters) are offering £10 to play on the bingo games for nothing! All you need to do is enter your debit/credit card details. I can assure you that they do not take money off you without you knowing!
I spent my £10 and won £20! Not bad for nothing. You have to make your account upto £30 before you can withdraw any money, but you can get around this by just depositing whatever is needed.
Finally I should add you can't just withdraw this free money. I assume you have to "wager" at least £10 before you can withdraw it, but that is easily done.
Follow the link below to enjoy some "great" bingo fun!:

Free Landline Calls! - Skype

Well technically it's not completely free but I found a deal that if you pay £1.50 a month (exc. vat) which works out at about £1.73 a month, you get to make free calls to any 01 or 02 number within the UK for free from your computer. This service is called Skype Pro.
Also you get a free Skype Voicemail system where if you are offline or busy it will allow people trying to call you to record messages which you can then listen to at a later date.
Alternatively if you just wish to call other Skype users (internet only) for free then you can! As long as you have a microphone and speakers you can talk for absolutely free to your friends as long as they have Skype on their computer too!
I personally have used Skype and it's great. I didn't sign upto the Skype Pro package but I did make calls to other friends who also had Skype and the sound quality was absolutely perfect. If you want to download Skype for free or try out the Skype Pro package just click on the fancy banner at the top of the site!

Virgin are currently running a deal where if you register your Virgin Sim Card online with the link provided below they give you an extra £2 credit within 48 hours of registering. This link just gives you an extra £2 on top of the £5 already loaded on the Sim Card!
Oh and on top of that they give you 2 free downloads of your choice (with the exception of £4.50 games)!!

Technical Difficulties.....& Future Plans

Hummmm for some reason the blog doesn't like any web page views per day of over 70....which is quite worrying! The plan for the next few days is to get a forum up and running so everyone can register (for free of course) and then if they happen to find any decent deals themselves, you can just post it yourself!
Hopefully in the future when the website earns a little bit of revenue then I could run a competition for most number of referrals by any existing member. This is some way off but with my current tracking system it would be possible to implement some sort of system.
Anyway do bare with me whilst I (or should I say someone else) fixes whatever problems i'm encountering and with any luck the site should be back to it's usual self (whatever that may be) by tonight!

Great Student Deals!

This is 'Great Student Deals'' first ever post. If you happen to stumble across this by accident then, hello! The aim of this site is to provide students with offers and deals which will hopefully save you alot of money.....or it may just make you spend more!!
As this site was only born today, it may not look fantastic but over time I hope to make it a whole lot better. Any feedback would be much appreciated.
